There are three changes that can happen when you get a subluxation:

1.  Too much nerve impulse.

2.  Too little nerve impulse.

3.  Altered Tissue.

Call us to attend one of our patient workshops that will teach you how these three changes affect your health.  Call us at 703.288.1702.

Pain and Disease in the Body

"The Subluxation"

Interference from the nervous system

You feel pain in your body. This pain is a symptom of a problem in your body. What causes this pain and how does it lead to the real problem? Here's how it works.

Your spinal cord is a complex system of nerve fibers, extending from the base of your skull down the center of your back. These nerves fibers are an essential part of the nervous system. The brain uses this system of fibers to send messages to the whole body- messages that control, coordinate and regulate every function of the body.

Protecting the spinal cord is the spinal column. The spinal column, often called the backbone, forms a "tunnel" of small interlocking bones called vertebrae. Spaces between the bones allow the nerve fibers to branch off to various parts of the body. This tunnel has to be strong enough to safeguard the nerves from injury, but flexible enough to allow the body to bend and move freely.

For the most part, the spinal column does a great job protecting your spinal cord. But sometimes, one or more bones gets out of proper alignment. This can happen during a physical or emotional trauma or by toxins within the body. When the bones are out of proper alignment, the spaces between the bones might close up or the bones might rub against and irritate one of the nerves.

A spinal bone which has lost its normal placement or alignment, is said to be "subluxated."

When this happens, the nervous system sends messages from the brain and the spinal cord out to each bodily organ. This message is received as an interference and can manifest itself as pain indicating disease and un-wellness in the body.  As a result of that interference, three things can happen and they are the cause of most dis-ease.

  1. Hyper activity of a nerve.

  2. Hypo activity of a nerve.

  3. Altered signal.

Hyper activity of a nerve

Every one knows about Mr. Microphone.  Remember when someone in an auditorium speaks on from the podium and you hear this screeeeching sound?  That is similar to what happens to your nerves when you have hyper activity.

Hyper activity symptoms are:

  • Increased motility of the intestinal system...A.K.A. diarrhea and stomach acid.

  • Over responsive allergy response.

  • That old friend called pain.

  • Muscle spasms.

  • Insomnia.

  • Eye sensitivity.

  • Ringing in the ears.

  • Altered moods... being crabby, irritated.

Hypo activity means a decrease in in the nerve impulses.  Just as a hose will only let a small amount of water through when crimped, a decreased signal is like an electrical brown-out.

Hypo activity symptoms are:

  • Fatigue.

  • Decreased motility of the digestive system...A.K.A. constipation and gas accumulation.

  • Numbness.

  • Decreased motor or muscle strength.

  • Incontinence and sexual dysfunction

  • Decreased immune system response.

Altered signals are tough to describe in one paragraph but I will do so anyway.  Altered signals are like a 10 megabyte executable file being sent over the internet.  If one byte is altered, it probably won't work correctly..  As goes the internet, so goes your bodily signals from the brain.

Altered Signal symptoms are:

  • Skin lesions - mole, wart, psoriasis, eczema, cancer

  • Cancer:  prostate, breast, lung, etc...

  • Digestive lesions - ulcers, ulcerative colitis

  • Anything that is abnormal regarding your body.
