Dr. Jason’s Bio
My journey into chiropractic, like many people, began with an injury. During my senior year in high school, my ankle was badly injured in a football game.
I thought my football days were over until a friend of mine told me about a chiropractor who specialized in sports injuries. Growing up in Iowa, the state with the first chiropractic school, Palmer College of Chiropractic, I was familiar with chiropractic but had never experienced it.
As a result of my chiropractor’s care, I completed the season as the starting running back. The thing that amazed me the most was that I was also the kicker (using the ankle I had injured) and I was able to keep doing that. I was impressed with the results of his treatment, and he explained to me how the body and the spine function and how trauma, stress, and life in general can alter these biomechanically.
I then saw the efficacy of Chiropractic. I had personally experienced how his treatments allowed my body to repair itself and to continue to do the things you love to do. I was convinced that my interest in natural healing and Chiropractic were a match.
Up next… the long 8-year process to become a Chiropractor. I went to the University of Iowa and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, and then to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the “Birthplace of Chiropractic”.
Palmer was a wonderful experience where I learned from great mentors in Chiropractic Art (adjusting), Science, and the Philosophy of natural healing. My greatest life-changing experience while at Palmer was that I volunteered to participate in a “Free Clinic” program in India to treat the poor. Giving is always better than taking.
After graduation, I was looking for a change in location since I had been an Iowa boy my whole life. Growing up on a farm, I understand hard work and the results that come from it.
This helped guide me to find my own path. Since graduating from Palmer almost 15 years ago, I gained a lot of experience while treating thousands of people, from newborns to 102 years old, and seeing how chiropractic care has changed their lives, constantly reinforces my love and dedication to this great profession.
I am trained in Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Impulse Instrumentation (lighter adjusting), extremities adjusting, kinesio-taping, trigger point therapy, prenatal care and Chiropractic Biophysics
I enjoy being with my two kids, Allie and Eli, my family, friends, my dog Slinky, playing sports, being outside (Reston is amazing for this) and exercising in my free time. I am so proud to have the opportunity to help people and I will always make time to talk with my patients and potential new patients. Give us a call today to set something up with me and my team, I promise you won’t regret it!
